This is a transcription of the will of William Bagnall, of or near Kiltubber & Rahue, County Westmeath, Ireland. The will was found at the Salt Lake City Family History Library on film # 100,948, page 623 (Mullingar District Registry, 1859-1887; includes County Offaly or Kings County and County Westmeath). It is not known when William died, but a William Bagnall died 20 Feb 1879 (age 63) and is buried in the old Rahugh Graveyard (St. Hugh’s Cemetery). Spelling was left as it was; punctuation was added because it had none.


I, William Bagnall devise and bequeath the interest on my farm to my two sons Robert and William share and share alike. If they wish to separate after they are both of age I appoint the part of Attyconnor upon which my house stands to Robert, the remainder to William, Ten acres of Sonna next to Moneloney (?) to Robert, Four acres of Sonna near Rahue meeting House to William, Twenty Acres on Kiltubber to both share and share alike in case one wishes to part with his share the other is to give him Fifty pounds for it. My stock money etc to be divided share and share alike between them, I appoint William Ryland and Edward Ryland Executors of this my last Will & Testament. William Bagnall, Signed sealed and delivered declared by the above names Testator as his last Will and Testament in presence of us who in his presence and in presence of our mother have hereunto set our hand & seals this twelfth day of February one thousand eight hundred & seventy seven.
